Os Funerais do Coelho Branco
Author: Nene Altro / 1st Edition – 2005

SOLD OUT

Released in November 2005, the book compiles excerpts from entries on Nene Altro´s blog, poems written on paper napkins in bars, leftovers from his band Dance of Days' lyrics and more. At the time when these texts were written, Nene had a serious problem with alcohol and drugs, which he fortunately survived.

The first edition of the book sold out in less than 6 months and immortalized this mythical figure in the Brazilian alternative culture. Nene Altro arouses a wide variety of feelings in people, both for his artistic talent (which remains marginalized) and for his intense and abusive lifestyle. He got what thousands are trying to get and very few can: by himself, he imprinted his name in the history of Brazilian rock, and particularly, in punk rock and the alternative culture.

Una Gira En Sudamerica - Com o Conjunto de Música Rock Merda
Author: Fabio Mozine / 1st Edition – 2009

Review by João Gordo:
This is the logbook of a subcompact full of crap with Vila Velha – ES license plates, which has the awful task of taking the Rock Music Ensemble MERDA throughout thousands of miles on a courageous suicidal endeavour. The goal was to make a tour in Brazil and South America following European standards: shows every day, hitting the road, rock'n'roll, too much alcohol and cheap food, obviously mixing the useless and the unpleasant...

Autor: Daniel Sinker | Tradução: Marina Melchers / 1ª Edição – 2009

Edições Ideal's first international release is "Não Devemos Nada A Você - Punk Planet: Coletânea de Entrevistas" (originally: We Owe You Nothing - Punk Planet: The Collected Interviews"). The book was first released in 2001 via Akashic Books, and was rereleased in 2007 with bonus material. The anthology is comprised of 30 interviews published in American magazine Punk Planet between 1997 and 2007 with seminal characters who helped change the history of independent music. Among them, Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Dischord), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre). From Hüsker Dü, Jawbreaker and Sleater-Kinney to The Gossip, Los Crudos and Shelter, the diversity that fits within punk is made clear. There are also those who express themselves in a DIY manner through other forms of art – graphic (Winston Smith, Art Chantry), visual (Jem Cohen, Miranda July) – or political activists, Fat Mike and his Punkvoter among them. And also, a revealing conversation with the members of Black Flag!
